Want information on grill pads, we can help. Being a large investment, choosing the right barbecue is important. Between charcoal and gas, it all comes down to taste and convenience. Charcoal barbeques are much more work; however, they provide very natural tasting flavor. Gas powered barbeques have a self cleaning feature, and are very easy to operate. Though very convenient, it often produces bland tasting flavors.
Like charcoal grills and grates gas grills need to be cleaned each time after use. All gas grills have a clean setting; however, this setting does not actually clean. Each time the clean setting is used to preheat the grill, it will burn any excess that has fallen thru the grates and onto the bottom of the grill. Though because of this clean setting, gas grills can be cleaned thoroughly just once a year. It should be comprised of a complete disassembly and scrub down of the system. Start it off by disconnecting the gas and taking apart the grill from top to bottom. When you cleaned your way down to the burner, make sure there is nothing obstructing the gas passage. Replace the gas components if they are too corroded with oils and foods. After a soapy scrub down, inspect any missing paint chips and repaint with grill paint if needed.

Approximately after 5 or 6 cook outs, it should be routine to empty out the charcoal and give the bottom a nice scrub to get rid of any food that fill into the charcoal pit and burned its way down the bottom. A bucket of soapy water, and a wire brush should do the trick. The heat caused by the fire pit can erode the paint finish. Whenever needed, purchase grill safe paint, and just apply where necessary.
